Welcome

This blog is about me travelling the world. It's about the trips I've done, the trips I will do in the future and the trips that are on my to-do-list. I also try to give some advice upon request, which you can find in the 'Can I help you?' section.

Ajax in Europe

I've visited about 30 matches of Ajax in another country, ranging from a small cartrip just over the border to the most crazy roadtrip I think i've ever done. In chronological order, the trips led me to: Glasgow, Glasgow, London, Milan, Bruges, Munich, Turin, Auxerre, Bielefeld, Copenhagen, Bern, London, Milan, Ghent, Bremen, Prague, Birmingham, Hamburg, Florence, Marseille, Bristol, Bratislava, Brussels, Zagreb, Timisoara, Turin, Auxerre, Milan, Brussels and Madrid.

As you can see, quite a bit of Italy, I saw Bergamo airport way too much. Trips like this helped me get my creativity in booking my journeys as everytime the draw for the match was done tens or hundreds of fans needed to get a flight to the same city, on the same day. So quite a few times I flew from an airport in Belgium, Germany or France, or just took a local train, rental car or arranged a touringcar to pick us up.

But the craziest one was the trip to Timisoara. With a car to Weeze airport, flying to Bratislava, taking public transport to the city and having a breakfast. Going to the busstation and waiting too long for our delayed bus. Arranging a ride on another company (2.5€ per person or something, lol) to Budapest, buying traintickets, checking into our hotel, chilling in the Szechenyi baths and a karaoke bar, traintrip to Timisoara, checking in again, drinking in the city, matchday, leaving the stadium at 0:30, partying till 3 or 4, taxi at 6.30, flying to Bergamo, couple of hours in Bergamo, flying back to Weeze. 3 flights, 6 countries, a 2.5 hours bustrip, 5 hours in the train, 2 missed penalties by Suarez and all of that in 60 hours or something.
