As long as you book early, the Dutch railways have some quite good deals to Germany, and we booked tickets leaving Saturdaymorning and returning sundayevening for 32€ a returntrip. With those tickets and just one night in a hotel we can enjoy almost 2 full days in Dusseldorf without taking off one day at work! We booked a ***-hotel somewhere between the central station and the old city (Altstadt), which costed 55€, so in total the traintickets and one night in the hotel set us back 60€ each.
Welcome
This blog is about me travelling the world. It's about the trips I've done, the trips I will do in the future and the trips that are on my to-do-list. I also try to give some advice upon request, which you can find in the 'Can I help you?' section.

Düsseldorf - July '12
In april I was looking for a summer weekendtrip that wouldn't cost too much money and days off. Given the fact Germany is quite close from Utrecht and trains go way more often than a flight with a typical low-cost-carrier. Germany it would be! Since i've been to Cologne a couple of times now, we decided to go for Düsseldorf, a city famous for the old city (the longest bar in the world), shopping, it's Japanese influences and the fun fair, which turned out to take place the weekend we were looking for!
